TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - This season hasn’t been very ‘Valdosta State’ like for the Blazer football team, as the guys are 2-4 on the year. After a bye week that head coach Graham Craig said was used to regroup, the Blazers are back in action this week and ready to snap a three game skid.

Saturday’s clash against North Greenville is just the third home game this year for VSU, plus it’s homecoming. Both those factors could give a morale boost to a team that really needs it.

Coach said his team also used this week to get healthy and get some extra reps, and he said the goal right now? Just go 1-0 on Saturday.

“We understand the expectations of Valdosta State and we’re working to meet those,” said Craig Wednesday. “Obviously, we have not done that so far this season. We do have our goals in front of us and that starts with beating North Greenville this week. Our guys have been great, they’ve come to work and are committed to getting it fixed and have come to practice that way. Excited to see the way we respond.”

Kickoff for Saturday’s game is set for 3:00.
