Valdosta State football fixing third-down woes during spring practice
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Valdosta State football is exactly two-thirds of the way through its spring season after Tuesday; ten practices down and five to go.
Coming off their first scrimmage of the spring on Saturday, Head coach Graham Craig said he likes how the team tackled during the scrimmage and he singled out an impressive showing from the linebackers.
But Tuesday’s practice was about fixing an issue that plagued the Blazers last season.
“Today’s a big third down day for us and that was something that we weren’t good on last year offensively or defensively,” said Craig. “So I have some third medium, third and long situations today. So looking to do more of that as we head into this next scrimmage and we’ll work more red zone, low red zone on Thursday.”
The Blazers last spring scrimmage is on Thursday, April 9.
