TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - It was a beautiful night at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium in Winnersville to wrap up the spring season for Valdosta State football.

The Blazers holding a scrimmage to give players a game-like atmosphere to think about before they break.

Some of Blazer nation was in attendence to add to the atmosphere .

It was a slow start for the offense, but the secondary took advantage. We saw an interception by redshirt sophomore Curtis Janvier, plus several other good pass breakups. The defensive line also got several stops, making life difficult for the inside run game all night.

When the offense did start rolling, it was former Valdosta Wildcat Tyrieke Wade in the center of it. On his high school field, he fired a bomb to the endzone to find former Lowndes Vikings receiver Tony Wiserman.

Head coach Graham Craig rotated quarterbacks Wade, Haden Klees and Champ Harris evenly.

Coach Craig said he was please about how the scrimmage played out.

“This team really learned how to practice and there’s a lot of new guys. We practiced with a lot of effort it was very competative and you saw the competativeness and the effort tonight. I thought both sides played really hard the whole time. That’s something that we’ll carry in,” said Craig. “I think with the amount of players that we had to go through spring, now it carries into fall camp and you got that identity before fall camp starts.”
