Furry Friday: These pups hoping to celebrate freedom, new family on Independence Day!

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - There are dozens of pups awaiting adoption at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center right now that are ready to celebrate their freedom with a new family on Independence Day!

A whopping 32 dogs - and 49 cats - were adopted during the shelter’s recent Petco Love Mega Florida Pet Adoption event - including three of our Furry Friday pups!

There are still more than 100 dogs available for adoption.

WCTV and the Tallahassee Animal Service Center team up each week to spotlight four adoptable dogs in hopes of helping them find their fur-ever homes faster!

Here are the dogs we are featuring this week:

MEET BUTCH

Meet Butch!

He was SO excited to get out of his kennel and make new friends!

Butch has a huge smile.

He loves to run and play.

He’s into plush toys, canine companions and scratches galore.

Butch was found wandering near Tom Brown Park.

He’s ready to jump into the arms and hearts of a fur-ever family that’s as active and affectionate as he is.

Please visit Butch at the shelter this weekend!

MEET BANDIT

Meet Bandit!

This joy boy has big energy and his coat is a real head turner - a cool kaleidoscope of swirling colors.

Bandit is active and affectionate and can’t wait to find a family that excels at both!

Bandit is into squeaky toys and playtime and he wound up at the shelter when his owner lost their home, but he’s house trained, crate trained and ready to flash those eyes and that smile for his next true love - maybe it’s you!

Please visit Bandit at the shelter this weekend!

MEET MIRANDA

UPDATE: RESCUED!

Meet Miranda!

This humble hound dog is right at home in the great outdoors, soaking up the sights and sounds and smells.

Miranda loves to follow her nose and keep up a brisk pace.

The shelter makes her nervous so she’s ready for a peaceful home - no sudden moves or loud noises please - with a big backyard to enjoy and explore.

Miranda and her best friend Kacey came in together as strays and snuggle up together in the kennel as they await a fur-ever family.

Miranda can’t wait to find a peaceful, patient family who will give her the love and time she needs to relax and shine.

Please visit Miranda at the shelter this weekend!

MEET KACEY

UPDATE: ADOPTED!

Meet Kacey!

This demure darling is looking for a family that’s peaceful, patient and kind.

Kacey is a nervous nellie ... easily startled ...with her tail tucked ... until she discovers she can trust you. But it may take a minute.

Kacey came into the shelter as a stray with her best friend Miranda. The two of them share a kennel and seem to share a strong bond.

She likes other dogs and would love the opportunity to get settled and come out of her shell!

Please visit Kacey at the shelter this weekend!
