Florida High product Micahi Danzy impressing as fall camp continues
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - When Florida State takes the football field August 29th, they’ll be a new man leading the offense. Ashton Daniels is a quarterback head coach Mike Norvell has continued to praise all fall camp, and while there’s some new talent around him on both sides of the ball, some familiar faces look to continue to lead.
A lot of those guys are familiar faces across both the Big Bend and South Georgia, guys like tight end Landen Thomas, who played high school football at Colquitt County. Norvell said Wednesday that Thomas is moving around the best he ever has.
On defense, Wakulla product Nehemiah Chandler, who transferred from South Alabama, is looking to step up after DB Karson Hobbs went down with an injury.
Norvell also talked extensively about Florida High grad Micahi Danzy, and how the wide receiver has continued to impress as we look ahead towards the fall.
“He’s a legit receiver and maybe last year you saw a really fast athlete that could play the ball, but there was still some areas where he could improve in his separation, some of the details of the routes, and he’s really coming along and even for him it’s the continued growth because he’s still relatively new at the position, but you’ve seen some great strides.”
Norvell also confirming that Jayvan Boggs has returned to practice, albeit limited, after suffering an injury, further bolstering that receiver room as we sit 17 days away from the season opener at home against New Mexico State.
