Florida State and FAMU are both expected to host home games on the following days: Aug. 29, Sept. 26 and Oct. 31
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The Tallahassee Police Department is offering game-day traffic tips ahead of the Florida A&M University and Florida State University football seasons.
This season, FAMU and FSU are both expected to host home games on Aug. 29, Sept. 26 and Oct. 31, the City of Tallahassee revealed in a press release Thursday.
As a result, TPD is working with both Florida State Police and FAMU Police to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for the thousands of fans expected to visit the capital city during the football season.
“With both universities hosting home games throughout the fall, motorists should expect increased traffic, temporary road closures and modified traffic patterns around both campuses,” city officials said.
On the days listed above, the city said travelers should expect heavier traffic around the downtown area and both campuses, particularly along Tennessee Street, South Monroe, Gaines and Pensacola streets, as well as Lake Bradford Road and Orange Avenue.
