TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Valdosta State has been red hot to start the 2026 season. The Blazers 2-0 with both wins in runaway fashion, but there’s always a different feel when you’re playing out of your comfort zone. The Blazers are set to take the show on the road for the first time this weekend.

Fayetteville State is a tough test out of the gate, and a model of consistency at the Division II level. They were 6-1 in conference play a year ago and off to a 2-0 start themselves so far in 2026.

The Broncos have a double digit victory over Shaw under their belt, while last week they won a defensive slugfest against UNC Pembrooke 10-7. Blazer head coach Graham Craig said the amount of ways the Broncos can beat you is what makes them dangerous.

“They’ve obviously, with the success they’ve had, shown a lot of different ways to win,” he said. “They can have a big night with some of the explosive plays, the receivers that they have. They’ve also shown games where their defense continues to play really, really well. Definitely going to be a challenge for us.”

Kick-off set for 6:00 on Saturday, and when they do kick, they’ll do so at the 16th ranked team in the country, up seven sports from last week.
